MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIR AND PRESIDENT

To be worthy of this work …

Foundations are extraordinary institutions. With their precious resources and particular freedoms, foundations have a unique capacity to influence the course of our society in ways that other institutions in our society, including government, business, and universities, cannot.

The leadership of the Pine Forge Academy family showed a lot of insight when they created the Pine Forge Academy Foundation. When it came time to establish the Foundation, the founders did something that was extremely wise; they decided the Foundation should focus on doing three things extremely well.

First, to develop a growing community of donors for Pine Forge Academy to ensure its financial future. Our founders were committed to building Christian-centered leaders for the 21st Century Global Citizenry. Pine Forge prepares our youth to be economically independent and productive citizens. This can only be accomplished by a good education. So many of our educational systems are failing to prepare our youth to create a healthy society in the year to come.

Second, to effectively distribute donors’ funds to meet the strategic and daily operational priorities of Pine Forge Academy.  These priorities are driven by the board-approved PFA Strategic Plan (2003-2010), our roadmap for achieving academic excellence for the next five years and beyond.   Our priorities are clear – to offer “world class” academic programs; provide a state-of-the-art campus infrastructure; create a rich student life experience; and graduate students who go on to make our society a better place by unleashing their full potential.  

Third, to prudently invest donated funds based on sound principles, good values, good ideas and choices to advance the mission of Pine Forge Academy. When people come to us with their dreams, we must treat them with respect and honor. We might not be able to support their view of how to shape some part of PFA so it might be better, but we must always listen with care and seek to learn from everyone.

We are charged by the founders and Board of Directors with operating this Foundation such that it makes a difference, and a big difference. Our founders dreamed this Foundation into reality. Our very difficult task is to make dreams real and, in the end, to make PFA a place where more students can realize their dreams, too.

When you invest with the PFA Foundation, we promise to:

• Put your interest first at all times and personally invest our gifts alongside yours.

• Manage your gifts with prudence, a long-term perspective, and the goal of providing solid returns through a conservative board-approved investment policy.

• Adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior and fiduciary responsibility.

• Strive to offer outstanding customer service, while keeping costs as low as possible.

• Communicate candidly with you about Foundation activities and challenges in keeping with our inclusive philosophy to all stakeholder groups.

• Maintain highly effectively controls to protect your assets and confidential information.

• Adapt, evolve, and continuously improve, because you should expect excellence in all that we do.
